The Venn Apps dashboard auto-saves any changes that you make to avoid you losing your work. However, those changes won't be applied to the live app unless you publish them or schedule them for later.
1. Saving changes
The editor on the dashboard is a draft state where you can preview changes to the app before going live. As you make changes on the editor, the dashboard will autosave to avoid you losing your work.
When the 'PUBLISH' button in the top left-hand corner of the dashboard is greyed out, this is an indicator that there are currently no changes in the draft state and the dashboard reflects the live app. As soon as you make a change, you will notice that the 'PUBLISH' button becomes clickable.
When you click on the 'PUBLISH' button, you will be presented with a dropdown that displays all of the pages that contain changes.
π‘ Pro Tip:
As soon as a change is saved on the dashboard, you can preview it using the preview app.
2. Publishing changes
If you are happy with your changes, there are a number of ways that you can publish them to the live app:
Publish all of the changes at once by selecting all of the pages from the publish dropdown menu and clicking 'PUBLISH'.
βPublish pages individually using the check boxes in the publish drop down menu and clicking 'PUBLISH'.
βSchedule all of the changes for later by clicking the clock icon and creating a schedule.
π‘ Pro Tips:
Make sure you preview changes using the preview app to ensure that everything is working as expected before publishing. For more information refer to 'How to preview your app'.
βApps have caches to reduce loading times. As such, changes might take 10 minutes to reflect on some devices.
βFor more information regarding scheduling, please refer to 'How to schedule changes to your app'.
3. Reverting changes
If you are unhappy with your changes, you can revert the changes and reset the dashboard so that it reflects the live app once again.
To revert changes, simply click on the revert button that sits on the right of the 'PUBLISH' button in the top left-hand corner of the dashboard.
When you click on the revert button, you will be presented with a dropdown that displays all of the pages that contain changes. There is a 'Select All' option or you can select individual pages using the check box.
Once you have selected the pages that you'd like to revert, click 'REVERT CHANGES' to reset those pages so that they reflect the live app once again.
